I didn't know what to expect when I started this book, probably a good thing too, since I have a hell of a lot of questions and no answers... Yet. I spent most of the journey confused and trying to figure out what was going on, or what just happened, or even who everyone was and how they all fit together.
Although I have more questions now than I did at the start of the book, I am interested to see what happens in part 2. There were, however, parts that it wasn't obvious until near the end of the scene that we were seeing the past rather than what was happening right then, (I know confusing, if you want to know what I mean give the book a try
Was super stoked when my sister -in-law sent me this picture to show me what she got for me
I am definitely going to agree that this is a dark fantasy, this is not the usual kind of fantasy I enjoy reading, but I thought I would give it a try and see how I go
Assorted Fantasies is full of short stories, which from the first is obvious there is more to the stories than I am getting; however they are also all related. It took a few of the short stories before I got a better understanding of what was going on, but I still know that I am missing the bigger picture. For myself, I doubt I'll read this again, it was just a little bit too dark for my liking.
Having no previous knowledge of the series, I feel that some of the short stories seemed pointless, I do however, imagine they are connected to a bigger picture, but without it...
I will admit that I did enjoy the fact that not all of the stories are contained to one place, you visit places at random all over the world. Unfortunately, for me, this is not enough to keep my interest to find out more about this world. What I figured to be the main thread that connects all of the short stories was intriguing enough to have me coming back to find out more, but the amount of gore that was involved was a bit much for my tastes. I like my paranormal/fantasy, but clearly dark fantasy is not for me
o excited that I finally got myself a copy of the marked series by Sylvia Day
Come on over and join in. We have new books, games and what are you reading today, plus some new activities about to begin
So I am sharing my friends book blog here with you, she is currently a little more organised than I am
So we all know the feeling of being super excited for a long anticipated book to finally be released, but also the disappointment of realizing only the hard cover copy has been released and of course you have to wait another 6 months, ( 6 months may be a little exaggeration lol,) for the paper back copy to be released, because that is what you need to go with your series collection. But then that day finally arrives and since you pre ordered it months ago, you get the notification to let you know it has been posted. Only to remember you have another 3 weeks to wait before you can actually get your hands on it. But the day it arrives, OMG , it is like, totally the BEST DAY EVER!!!
